This is a relatively fast-growing evergreen tree native to the Channel Islands of California. A special feature of this tropical to subtropical tree is the fibrous shedding gray bark revealing a cinnamon red under bark. The large leaves are scallop-toothed. Large clusters of white flowers extend out from the foliage.
