Most garden specimen will only reach 6 to 8 feet in height and a little wider in spread. It may be used as a hedge and lends itself well to shearing. It has mildly fragrant flowers, which may be eaten. The blue-black fruit resemble olives and this its name "delavay tea olive". Once established, the plant will need little or no supplementary water.
