This tree is noted for its strong pendulous habit of growth. It produces soft, fern-like foliage which turns a bright rusty-orange in late autumn. The growing conditions for this cypress are similar to the regular bald cypress. It tolerates a rather wide range of growing conditions from high well-drained sites to those sites with moderately wet soils.
