In 20-30 years will produce a 60 foot tree that can be covered with edible nuts. Grown for nuts and a source of lumber. Mature trees have ben known to produce several hundred pounds of nuts in a single year. Does not do well in shade, in heavy soils or those the tend to be droughty.
