Comments: This is a large tropical shrub to small tree that produces bright red flowers in spring. It cannot tolerate freezing temperatures. Quite popular tree in Hawaii and Southern California. There are several cultivars available in the trade. Several include 'Forsteri''Robyn Gordon,' 'Superb', 'Coconut Ice', 'Claire Dee' and 'Misty Pink.'
