Comments: The Ornamental Rbubarb makes a handsome coarse textured foliage plant in the garden. It sends up tall, pinkish-colored floral stalks in late spring to early summer. Performs best in the cooler regions of the country. Needs a deep, rich soil for best results. Cannot tolerate the hot, humid South. Mulch plants to keep roots cool during the summer months. Parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested. Parts of the plants have been used for centuries in the medicial profession.
