Cannot tolerate the hot, humid conditions of the Lower South. In places where conditions are favorable this can be a very successful garden perennial with prominent summer flowers. Bloomd late in thr season and a dwarf variety with violet flowers in August and September. Grow in sun or light shade in moist soil.
