Small. white,dove-shaped flowers sorrounded by two large white bracts that resemble handkerchiefs. A height of 50 feet may be attained by this pyramidal shaped tree, but in the range of 30 feet is more common. It grows rapidly from seed and produces flowers at a young age. The green fruit turns rust colored in winter. The bark is rough and scaly. Drought and wet soils are not tolerated by the Dove tree.
