This is a relatively small growing pear of Asian origin that produces edible fruit. The images above are trees trained as espaliered, but this tree will grow as an orchard tree in the Mid-South. It is reported that this pear is an excellent pollinator for other pears growing nearby. It will grow in a rather wide range of soil conditions but does best in a moist, fertile, well drained soil
