Comments:
Grown in many hot areas for its edible fruit, which are produced only by female plants. Male plants are used in indoor malls, since they produce less debris that does the female. Propagated by cuttings or suckers. Only one male is needed to pollinate the flowers of 100 females. This is a drought tolerant species. Used as a street tree in Las Vegas, Florida, Arizona and California. Susceptible to fungal leaf spot.
