Keep in mind that all parts of this plant are poisonous. Jatrophas can be planted in the ground in warm climates and make excellent container plants in places where freezes occur because they will need winter protection. Grow easily from freshly harvested seed. They grow best in full sunlight and in a porous, sandy soil. These plants attract hummingbirds and butterflies.
