Comments:
This is a robust white flowering quince that produces an abundance of white flowers in very early spring. Occasional pruning is beneficial because flowering quinces can live a long time and some of the old canes need to be removed periodically to encourage new flowering wood. Flowering quinces can defoliate early due to leaf diseases, especially in the Lower South. They perform best in the Upper South where winter temperatures are colder. Flowering quince fruit is used to make a very tasty jelly.
