Comments: Although a long-lived perennial in its native Brazil, parrot lilies are normally grown as annuals for their colorful spring flowers. The cultivated types produce large showy flowers. Some members of this group can be real pests in the garden because of their aggressive spread where conditions are favorable. Provide a moist, fertile, well drained soil and full sunlight for best growth. This plant is probably unequal in its length of life of good quality as a cutflower.
