Comments:	This is a recent hybrid shrub introduction to the trade that features the best of the two partents, the native sweetshrub and the Chinese sweetshrub. This deciduous shrub produces large glossy foliage and striking three inch wine-red flowers. The floral buds are particularly beautiful before they open in the spring. Provide a fertile, well drained soil and filtered sunlight for the best growing conditions. This plant is not readily available in the trade.
