This is one of the lesser cultivated styrax species, but is an outstanding deciduous shrub for naturalistic settings. It produces white bell-shaped flowers in spring and egg-shaped fruit in summer and autumn. Provide a fertile, well drained soil and filtered sunlight. This is a native tree of China.
