This large shrub to small deciduous tree is often multi-trunked and is an especially good plant for naturalistic settings. Like all sumac species this one also has good autumn colors in yellows, reds, and orange. Spread is by suckers from parent plants. One cultivar that is noted in the trade is 'September Beauty.'
