In zone 8 it may be killed to the ground by freezes, but will come back from the roots. It flowers for an extended period of time from spring until the cool days of fall. It may be used as a bedding plant, in raised planters and wall plantings, or in foundation planting. It is tolerant of high temperature, high humidity and drought. Butterflies are attracted to the blue flowers.
