Comments:
Generally an upright grower, there is much variation in habit of growth as most plants are seed grown. Compound leaves are purplish-green when they first come out and slowly turn to a shinny green. Has very interesting form that is best displayed during winter. A deciduous species is spread by birds that feed on the seed. The foliage is yellow in autumn, particularly in the zones 4 and 5. This Japanese native is pest free.
