In shape they are generally low and mounding. Used as an annual bedding plant or in containers where not winter hardy. Flowers profusely from spring through fall and come in a wide variety of solid or two-toned colors. Butterflies are attracted to the flowers and when pentas are planted in combination with other butterfly and hummingbird plants, they are a valuable asset to the garden.
