Comments: This banana species has little frost hardiness, and cannot withstand temperatures below 30 degrees F. However, even when banana plants freeze to the ground, they may come back from the roots as the temperatures rise in the spring. The height of plant depends on the cultivar. The dwarf variety seldoms gets more that five feet tall. Flowering and fruiting may occur at any season where the plant in hardy.
